Bonfiglioli’s locally assembled heavyweight champ a winner at Bulkex
09 September 2009
Some of the world’s most advanced heavy industrial drives technology was displayed by Bonfiglioli at Australia’s premier bulk handling exhibition, Bulkex 2009, where Bonfiglioli won the Best Custom Stand Award.

The 6000 sq m exhibition - the largest of its kind in the Asia Pacific – was a launching pad for Bonfiglioli’s latest products including the largest of the new HD helical drive series and the most powerful Trasmital planetary drive currently available, the Trasmital 321L5FZ, which offers up to 650 000 Nm of torque for use on heavy duty applications, such as coal thickeners or winches.

The latest HDO160 bevel helical - mounted on a baseplate with fluid coupling brake and electric motor – attracted great interest, along with
other members of the totally new modular design HD series, said the the Managing Director, Bonfiglioli Transmission (Australia) Pty Ltd, Mr Macolm Lewis, who was presented with the award by the Editor of Bulk Materials Handling magazine, Mr Charles MacDonald.

The HD series is now produced on Bonfiglioli’s new Australasian production and testing line that cuts delivery times out of Europe by more than half for models in capacities from 14,000 – 125,000 Nm.

“The exhibition’s timing in Brisbane during August co-incided with the beginnings of a resurgence in confidence across major industry sectors in Australia, so it was the ideal place to be to show products offering  high levels of performance, reliability and energy efficiency,” said Mr Lewis.

“We were delighted to receive a particularly strong response to the new HD series, which is a totally new design from the ground up, designed to be assembled remotely around the globe to customer requirements by qualified Bonfiglioli subsidiaries such as our own.”
