The business philosophy driving all Bonfiglioli localisation initiatives is based on our belief that working in a country means sharing its life in every way – social, economic and cultural – and interacting with its people in a way that shows that “giving is as good as receiving”. Bonfiglioli has received much from India: we have been welcomed into the nation with great generosity and it is for this reason that the “BONFIGLIOLI CHEERFUTURELAND” project has been put in place.

To support India in ways that extend beyond economics and industry and into the social sphere, we are building a village in Arakkonam, a few hours from Chennai, to provide all the structures needed to house orphaned children and to ensure their physical and psychological wellbeing.

Our aim is create a community capable not only of providing food and shelter for the poorest members of society, but also capable of promoting their cultural and social development. The project is a long term one: the next few years will see the completion of various infrastructures (accommodation, health clinic, workshops, etc.) to help children in need. The youngsters taken into care will receive a home, medical attention, education and the chance to take part in various recreational and educational activities. Those who complete their studies and wish to join the world of work in a modern and growing business will also be guaranteed a job at Bonfiglioli India in the future.

We are undertaking to give these children a helping hand to grow and learn in a secure and comfortable environment, not only by looking after them now but by preparing them for life tomorrow. CHEERFUTURELAND’s offer of a job to these children when they grow up is perhaps the project’s most distinctive feature, and demonstrates that our thoughts are with them not only today but tomorrow too.
