The Italian Ambassador to India visits the Bonfiglioli plant

Welcoming an invitation extended by the management of Bonfiglioli, the Italian ambassador to India, His Excellency Daniele Mancini, accompanied by his wife Maria Rita Mancini and the embassy’s First Secretary, Economic & Commercial, Elisabetta Holsztejn Tarczewski, paid an official visit to BTPL (Bonfiglioli Transmission Pvt Ltd), the Bonfiglioli Group’s Indian production plant, on the 8th June 2013.

The visit emphasised the importance of Bonfiglioli on the Indian industrial panorama. Bonfiglioli is one of the major Italian manufacturers that have set-up a state of the art  production facility and a sales network in India for the longest time (since 1999). Our company is also one of the most significant Italian businesses in India in terms of results achieved, especially in the region where the BTPL plant is located.

During his visit, the Ambassador took the opportunity to tour the plant, which covers an area of around 27,000 m2 and is dedicated to the production of components for the mobile machinery and wind turbine industries. He was able to see the organisation and strength of Bonfiglioli India for himself, and discovered how Bonfiglioli is the largest supplier of yaw and pitch control components to India’s wind sector and a leading player in power conversion systems for photovoltaic energy and power transmission systems for various industrial applications including self-propelled and earth moving machines.

The Ambassador greatly appreciated the investments that Bonfiglioli has made in India, and noted how, thanks to recent improvements, the BTPL plant is now one of the most advanced and efficient in the country, in terms of the organisation of production, advanced machining processes and approach to occupational health and safety.

The Ambassador was also impressed that Bonfiglioli’s Indian operations have the capacity to supply solutions not only to the local market but to the group’s other international markets too, and that a significant proportion of BTPL’s output is actually exported.

Finally, the Ambassador and his staff commended Bonfiglioli for the CSR initiatives and the great support they have given to the CheerFutureLand project.
