We do business worldwide and feel a great responsibility, not only to our enterprise, but also to the areas and people around us.

Our Group’s founder, Clementino Bonfiglioli, is the inspiration for our commitment. He believed that helping our next generation of leaders guarantees both a better future for them and for the communities in which they live.

We therefore are firmly convinced that a better future is only possible by fostering education for all youth.

Following her father’s path and his heritage, Sonia Bonfiglioli continues to expand this mission of social responsibility by supporting several initiatives based on our three pillars: Young People, Education and Territory Development.

WORKING TOGETHER FOR A QUALITY EDUCATION IN UGANDA!

The Wakiso district is located in the central part of Uganda. It is the most populous district in the country, with over 2 million people. Our goal in this area is that its children are educated and grow up healthily, learning how to become adults who in the future can contribute to the improvement of their family's well-being and the development of their society.

Education is the biggest challenge this country faces!

13% of school-age children don’t go to school and the quality of education is extremely low, as shown by the country’s literacy rates: 2/3 of children are unable to recognise more than a single word at the end of the second grade, and only 3% are able to read a simple story in primary school.

With our contribution, Save the Children will build housing for 4 teachers, ensuring their presence at school and offering a concrete response to the problem of absenteeism: solutions with a direct impact on the quality of children’s education.

This is the way we will guarantee continuity and quality of education to 100 children!

The CheerFutureLand project began almost 10 years ago to help disadvantaged boys by creating Boys Home, in the Chennai area. Since its opening, about 50 children have had the opportunity to live together in a protected environment, to receive an education and to learn vocational skills that prepare them for higher education or to enter the workforce.
As Sonia remembers:
My father had a passion for helping children, especially in educating them and giving them a chance for a better future.
In 2016, we reinforced the CheerFutureLand project by laying the foundations for a second house in a village near Boys Home.

It is dedicated to providing 50 disadvantaged young girls with a safe, protected environment where they live together, the Girls Home.
 
The CheerFutureRoseLand project was completed in January 2018.

The building includes residences, dining facilities, gardens, a playground, and areas for recreation and sports, and extra-curricular activities like drawing, dancing, music, gardening and more. Vocational training in disciplines such as tailoring and computer skills, in addition to education in core subjects (mathematics, science, English, etc.) are also part of the daily routine. For safety and security, CCTV cameras have been installed, and there are security personnel and female supervisors.
Bonfiglioli focuses on training the great minds and skilled hands who will be employed in the mechanical industry of tomorrow.

Clementino Bonfiglioli Prize – Leonardo Committee

Since 2011, Bonfiglioli has been supporting, promoting and financing a prize for graduation theses. Named after our company’s founder, this prize is awarded to young people who demonstrate excellence in their studies and complete a degree thesis relevant to industrial automation, power transmission and control, or innovative mechatronics.

A bridge between school and real life

On a regular basis, our production and process engineering managers deliver seminars to final-year students from top national technical institutes such as the Istituto Istruzione Superiore Aldini Valeriani in Bologna; Istituto Istruzione Superiore A. Paradisi in Vignola (Modena); Istituto Tecnico Tecnologico Statale Guglielmo Marconi in Forlì; Istituto Tecnico Tecnologico Marconi in Rovereto (Trento) and Centro di Formazione Professionale G. Veronesi in Rovereto (Trento).

 

In 2016, 40 young people became part of our Group, and we have offered them their first work experience. 

Malpighi La.B

Malpighi La.B, the robotics, IT and 3D planning and design laboratory dedicated to Clementino Bonfiglioli, was born in 2017 from the desire to create, for the first time in a high school, a learning environment where technology can become a means for young people to test themselves, experiment and cultivate their ideas, in contact with the world of business and research.

It is a dedicated space created within Liceo Malpighi and open to all students of the territory. It offers the opportunity to experiment with multidisciplinary approaches for solving concrete problems, tackling design issues of increasing complexity and expressing oneself creatively through the most innovative technologies

MUS-E

MUS-e (Musique Europe) is a multicultural European project dedicated to primary schools that welcome many immigrant children or those with serious socio-economic or cultural hardships. It was created 25 years ago through the inspiration of violinist Yehudi Menuhin to educate new generations through artistic expression (music, theater, dance, visual arts): a shared language to promote integration and communication.

The aim of the Mus-e is to facilitate the relationship, the socialization and the exchange of experience among children with the use of unusual instruments. The association operates in 12 European countries but also in Brazil, Israel and Senegal.

Emilia Romagna Epilepsy Association (AEER)

Bonfiglioli is supporting the Emilia Romagna Epilepsy Association (AEER) in a pilot project that monitors and treats cognitive and emotional functions for 60 patients between the ages of 6 and 16 who belong to the Complex Operating Unit (UOC) of Child Neuropsychiatry at the Bellaria Hospital in Bologna.

The results of the study will be published, presented at national conferences and will allow the launch of training events for structuring a training initiative called the "School of Epilepsy" for school and educational staff at a regional, and then national, level.

MODERNISSIMO

Bonfiglioli’s attention to the area is also focused on art and cultural heritage. This includes a contribution to the restoration of the Modernissimo cinema, inside the Palazzo Ronzani. Built between 1913 and 1915, the building is a multifunctional edifice that houses not only a cinema but also a subterranean theater.

Vietnam

Since 2001, we have supported a school in Ho Chi Minh City that provides children from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds with free education. We promote teacher training programs and construction work to improve the school.

 

Currently, the school is attended by 130 children, 92 of whom have lunch on site. This is an important aspect of their growth and guarantees a healthy diet.

 

The school has developed a collaboration program with universities, in which volunteer students help with teaching activities.

 

Other interesting initiatives are periodic visits by a psychologist to help the children find greater serenity and develop their communication ability, and the collaboration of a veterinarian who teaches them how to look after animals properly.

South Africa

Since 1990, St. Mary’s School in Johannesburg, through the Ikusasa Lethu Programme, has been providing promising disadvantaged young girls a top-class education to prepare them for being responsible citizens of a challenging world. Bonfiglioli supports the St. Mary’s Foundation by ensuring that the girls have everything they need.

Currently, the program welcomes more than 300 pupils from the Alexandra area. More than a local initiative, the Ikusasa Lethu Programme contributes to the broader education system to redress educational disadvantages in South Africa.

The aim is to develop the personal, social and academic skills necessary for success in higher education, which will allow the students to contribute to their communities in the future.

Slovakia

Our donations and sponsorships in Slovakia have contributed to funding training activities in the secondary professional school of Povazska Bystrica; art laboratories and sports associations for children, students and talented young people in Povazska Bystrica and various cultural events in the city, such as Young Talent of Povazska Bystrica, Cooltajner, Run of Hope and Night Run.

UK

For years, Bonfiglioli UK has been financing the Circus Starr initiative in England, a circus show for youngsters with learning difficulties and their families.

Bonfiglioli has always cared deeply about giving back to our local communities. For this reason, our UK branch has sponsored the Rainford Under 8 football team, providing new kits for all the players. With a brand new girls' team and 25 total teams, this is a growing club run entirely by volunteers that we are happy to support in any way we can!
