A new paradigm for component remanufacturing
RE-PAIR focuses on the development of a robot-enhanced inspection station equipped with advanced tools for real-time defect detection and decision-making.
This innovative system enables more accurate and efficient quality control, enhances operator–robot collaboration, and significantly reduces inspection and configuration times.
An augmented interface projected directly onto the inspected component ensures intuitive and safe interaction, allowing operators to verify and correct anomalies in real time.
Technology at the core of innovation
The project brings together a suite of cutting-edge technologies, including:
- AI-driven visual inspection for automatic and objective defect identification;
- Component localization and pose estimation to ensure precise robotic motion;
- Dynamic camera path planning and AR projection for enhanced collaborative inspection;
- Rapid system reconfiguration to adapt seamlessly to different geometries and components.
By combining these technologies, the RE-PAIR project aims to
reduce waste, improve efficiency, and support the European Union’s goals for sustainability and circular economy within industrial manufacturing
Through RE-PAIR, Bonfiglioli reaffirms its commitment to innovation and sustainability, with the goal of making remanufacturing processes more efficient, safer, and environmentally responsible.
