  • Clementino Bonfiglioli forms Costruzioni Meccaniche Bonfiglioli, which is later destined to become Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A. Clementino Bonfiglioli himself designs the first worm gears (the VF Series) to be supplied to major local industries in the packaging sector.
  • Work begins on a new factory in Lippo di Calderara di Reno, Italy. Bonfiglioli designs and patents the RAE series two-stage planetary gearbox, which proves so successful that no improvements are required for the next 15 years.
  • Tecnotrans Bonfiglioli SA is formed in Barcelona, Spain.
  • Bonfiglioli acquires Forlì-based Italsai, a business with a fleet of advanced machine tools and years of experience in producing planetary gearboxes. The newly acquired company becomes TRASMITAL.
  • Bonfiglioli opens its French subsidiary in Paris: Bonfiglioli Transmission SA.

  • A new plant is opened at Bargellino di Calderara, Italy, to produce worm and other gears.

    Bonfiglioli UK is formed.

  • Bonfiglioli Transmission is formed in Australia.

    Bonfiglioli Power Transmission is formed in South Africa.

  • Bonfiglioli Deutschland GmbH is formed in Germany.
  • Bonfiglioli Riduttori’s quality system is ISO 9001 certified by TUV and DNV.
  • Bonfiglioli publishes the “Gearmotor Handbook”.
  • Bonfiglioli presents the innovative C, A and F Series of gearboxes at the Hannover exhibition.

  • Bonfiglioli India is formed. Thanks to an extremely modern production plant in Chennai (Madras), Bonfiglioli India soon becomes a hub for expansion throughout Asia, and delivers a high volume of top quality products to a constantly growing customer base.
    Bonfiglioli USA is formed in the United States.

  • Bonfiglioli launches its e-commerce portal, Mosaico.
  • Bonfiglioli acquires Vectron Elektronik GmbH, a German company specializing in the design and manufacture of high technology inverter drives. This move heralds the start of an industrial development process that in only a few years establishes the Bonfiglioli Group as a leader in mechatronics. 
  • The BEST project (Bonfiglioli Excellence Service Team) is launched, and leads to creation of the power transmission market’s most modern sales organization. It is based on preferred business partners equipped with all the tools they need to develop their markets independently, and to distribute Bonfiglioli products and services according to a strategy agreed with corporate headquarters.

  • Bonfiglioli Drives Shanghai is formed in China.

    Bonfiglioli acquires TECNOINGRANAGGI, a Bologna-based company specializing in design and production of reduced-backlash planetary gearboxes, and a longstanding leader in its field. 

  • Bonfiglioli BSK is formed in Slovakia.

  • Bonfiglioli Turkey is formed.

    The Bonfiglioli Group celebrates its 50th anniversary, confirming the success of Bonfiglioli Riduttori as a leader in the global power transmission market.

  • Bonfiglioli Vietnam is formed to serve a rapidly expanding Asian market.
  • Bonfiglioli Brazil is formed in São Paulo.
  • Sonia Bonfiglioli takes over control of the Group.
  • Bonfiglioli Mechatronic Research (BMR) is formed in Rovereto. The company is dedicated to development of brushless motors and reduced-backlash gearboxes. It boasts extensive R&D capabilities and an advanced production plant capable of turning out extremely sophisticated products.
    Bonfiglioli opens a second site in Mannur, India, to serve its Industrial Business Unit.

  • The MDS division is created. Formation of an “Industrial Mechatronic Drives & Solutions” (MDS) division. 

    An Electromobility Competence Center is set up at the Forlì plant to develop innovative electromobility solutions.

  • Bonfiglioli South East Asia is formed in Singapore
  • Acquisition of 95% of the Spanish branch Tecnotrans Bonfiglioli.

  • Bonfiglioli Drives (Shanghai) Co., Ltd site established in QingPu, Shanghai, China.

    Bonfiglioli Riduttori acquires a majority stake in O&K Antriebstechnik from Carraro. This company has more than 130 years of experience in designing, developing and producing high-powered planetary gearboxes. The expertise of O&KA has ensured its sound reputation in both Mobile (tracked vehicles) and Mining (excavators).

  • The Bonfiglioli Group celebrates its 60th anniversary, confirming the success of Bonfiglioli as a leader in the global power transmission market.

  • Bonfiglioli announces the start of operations of its gearbox assembly facility in Pune, India.

    Enlargement of the plant in Slovakia, including an additional 8,000 square meters for production, and insource machining of solid and splined shafts (including IH), helical gears and HD pinion shafts, to increase value, quality and flexibility.

    Establishment of the Malpighi LAB.
